Q2 2024 Snapshot: Top Music & Podcasts Apps on Android in the US

As the second quarter of 2024 comes to a close, we at Sensor Tower have curated a performance analysis of the top Music and Podcasts applications on the Android platform in the US. Here's how these apps have resonated with users over the past three months.

Spotify: Music and Podcasts, published by Spotify AB, has seen a consistent increase in revenue, peaking at $8.3M in mid-June. Downloads surged to 75K in late April, with a gentle decline to 47K by the quarter's end. Weekly active users fluctuated around the 6.8M mark, concluding with a slight rise to 6.8M.

YouTube Music, by Google LLC, maintained a steady interest with weekly active users, starting at 11.9M and peaking at 12.3M in mid-June. Downloads showed a modest increase from 14K to 15K in the same period. Notably, YouTube Music's revenue data remained at $0 throughout the quarter.

Radio Argentina: Radio FM y AM demonstrated relative stability in downloads, starting at 16K and dipping slightly to 11K by late June. Weekly active users saw a peak of 101K in mid-April, ending the quarter with 98K.

The other version of Spotify's app, Spotify - Music and Podcasts, had downloads ranging between 7.8K and 10K, with the number of active users increasing from 70K to 75K over the quarter.

Lastly, Simple Radio: Live AM FM Radio by Streema, Inc. saw revenues grow from $131 to $220 by quarter's end. Downloads showed a decrease from 10K to 7.2K, while weekly active users rose from 86K to 83K.
